A multi-faceted role, Occupational Work Supervision has the development and maintenance of good occupational working relationships in the workplace at its core. The supervisor will look at methods of working, health, safety, environmental and welfare practices in the workplace as well as coordinating and organising work operations, aiming for a seamless process and project outcome.
This Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Occupational Work Supervision - Construction qualification enables delegates to demonstrate and recognise skills, knowledge and understanding and demonstrate competence in a real workplace environment.
The qualification is designed to prepare people for work in a supervisory capacity in the construction sector.
We assess learners against performance and knowledge statements derived from National Occupational Standards - the Recommended Qualification Structure for Work Supervision in Construction Level 3.
While producing a portfolio of evidence, learners will show how they have met each unit's performance and knowledge criteria required within the qualification, as directed by their assessor.
To pass this qualification, learners must successfully complete and achieve all six Mandatory Units and two Optional units.
Learners taking this Level 3 NVQ in Occupational Work Supervision - Construction will cover knowledge, skills, and practices to learn supervisory fundamentals in construction.
The course content includes:
Mandatory Units - must achieve all six units
Optional Units - must achieve two units
Upon successfully completing this qualification, learners will have the skills, knowledge, understanding, and competence to progress to a higher-level qualification in the same or similar occupational area.
As a result of completing the NVQ Level 3 Occupational Work Supervision - Construction, learners can apply for the CSCS Gold Card on completion of a CITB Health, Safety and Environmental Supervisor Test.
Any person or employee who works as a foreperson or in a supervisory capacity and requires a CSCS Supervisor Gold card and a nationally recognised qualification in this occupation.
We advise between 6 and 9 months from induction to complete most Level 3 NVQs. The duration within this time depends on delegate experience, circumstances, and work.

The Totally Training Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Occupational Work Supervision - Construction is designed for Learners in the workplace environment. Before enrolling on the course, Learners must ensure they can provide the necessary evidence within their role to achieve All performance requirements stated in the qualification standards.
Once the Learner has completed their NVQ and obtained their CSCS Supervisory Gold Card, their CSCS card is valid for Five Years. It can be renewed with an in-date CITB Supervisors Health, Safety and Environmental Test, renewing it for another Five Years.
