MANUAL HANDLING

But manual handling is a significant contributor to workplace injuries, with musculoskeletal disorders common in the long-term and accidents from incorrect handling causing breaks, sprains and strains in short. This training course delivers the necessary skills, knowledge, and understanding of safe manual handling techniques. It is for anyone needing practical and theory-based training and assessment to work safely.

A mix of practical and theory-based exercises and tutorials take learners through safe manual handling techniques and why they are essential. In addition, they’ll participate in practical activities to correctly lift, handle and move, eliminating any bad habits and opportunities for injury.

Our occupationally and technically-experienced tutors coach learners on this course, completing the session with a question and answer paper and practical assessment to follow. They must pass the assessment to qualify for certification, valid for three years.

At the end of the training, successful learners will:  

• Understand the definition of Manual Handling 
• Know how to eliminate or reduce the need for Manual Handling 
• Show an understanding of the TILE/TILEO risk assessment 
• Outline associated injuries and illnesses due to poor manual handling
• Demonstrate correct lifting procedures 
• How to conduct team lifting operations

On successful completion of the course, delegates receive their certification, valid for three years.  

This Manual Handling Citrus Certification is suitable for anyone, no matter their role or industry sector. 

The training is a half-day session, finishing with a short written assessment and practical exercises.
